Position: Content Project Manager (Social & Content Calendar)

Location: Boca Raton, Florida (On-Site Only)

Join 4ocean and advance your career while making a significant impact on the environment.

About Us:

4ocean is a mission-driven company focused on removing plastic from the ocean, rivers, and coastlines around the world. Every product we sell and every partnership we build directly funds cleanup operations led by our captains and crews.

We are building a content engine that doesn’t just tell that story - it drives real impact. More revenue means more crews, and more crews means more plastic removed. This role plays a critical part in making that happen.

Position Overview:

We’re looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented operator to own and manage 4ocean’s content and marketing calendar.

This is not a content creator role. This is the person who keeps everything moving. You will act as the central point of coordination across content creators, editors, designers, partnerships, e-commerce, and brand. Your job is to bring structure, clarity, and execution to everything we produce.

You will own the calendar, direct what content needs to be created, ensure it gets produced, and make sure it gets published correctly across platforms. You are the keeper of the keys when it comes to posting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the Content & Marketing Calendar
  • Build, manage, and continuously update the master content calendar
  • Align all verticals including Partnerships, E-commerce, Brand, and Foundation
  • Ensure clear visibility across teams on what is being created, when, and why
  • Manage timelines, priorities, and deadlines across multiple initiatives

Own Social Platforms & Daily Posting

  • Own the execution of posting across all social media platforms
  • Ensure all content is scheduled or posted accurately, on time, and aligned with the calendar
  • Manage captions, tagging, links, and overall post setup across platforms
  • Maintain consistency and quality control across all published content
  • Work alongside the community management team to monitor comments, DMs, and engagement
  • Maintain a strong pulse on audience feedback, conversations, and sentiment
  • Step in to respond or guide responses when needed to ensure brand voice and accuracy

Direct Content Production (Set Clear Swim Lanes)

  • Provide clear briefs and direction to content creators, editors, and designers
  • Translate partner and product requirements into actionable content direction
  • Define what needs to be created, why it matters, and where it will be used
  • Establish clear boundaries on what can and cannot be said or shown
  • Give creators the freedom to execute creatively within defined guidelines

Partner Content Coordination

  • Work directly with the account management team to understand partner deliverables
  • Clearly define messaging guidelines, do’s and don’ts, and approval requirements
  • Ensure all partner content aligns with expectations and contractual needs
  • Help deliver high-quality, on-brand content for key partners

Product & E-commerce Content Coordination

  • Collaborate with the e-commerce team to understand product priorities
  • Translate product features, benefits, and messaging into content direction
  • Ensure clear calls to action are incorporated into content
  • Support the creation of performance-driven content for paid and organic channels

Content Distribution & Execution

  • Route content to the appropriate teams across Partnerships, E-commerce, Brand, and Foundation
  • Ensure content is not just created, but actually used across channels
  • Maintain organization of content libraries and assets for easy access and use

Feedback & Iteration

  • Review content submissions and provide clear, actionable feedback
  • Coordinate edits and revisions with editors and creators
  • Maintain quality while keeping speed and output high

Cross-Team Coordination

  • Act as the liaison between Partnerships, E-commerce, Brand, and Foundation
  • Keep all teams aligned on priorities, deliverables, and timelines
  • Ensure nothing falls through the cracks across departments

Partner-Facing Collaboration (As Needed)

  • Join calls with key partners when needed to align on content direction
  • Help translate partner ideas into actionable content plans
  • Bring in creators or team members when necessary to support larger initiatives
Requirements

Qualifications:

Core Traits

  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong communicator who gives clear, direct direction
  • Comfortable managing multiple moving pieces at once
  • High level of ownership and accountability
  • Fast-moving and execution-focused (not perfection-driven)
  • Confident directing creatives without needing to be one

Experience & Tools

  • Experience managing content calendars and workflows
  • Comfortable working with tools like Asana, Google Drive, Slack, and Frame.io
  • Strong understanding of how content moves from idea to execution to publishing
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and posting workflows

Requirements

  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to Boca Raton, Florida
  • This is an on-site role at 4ocean’s cleanup headquarters
  • Comfortable working with in-office teams and field teams
  • Able to operate in a fast-paced, high-output environment

It is also super important that all 4ocean crew members naturally live and embrace our core values:

  • Ocean first
  • Get Shit Done
  • We’re in this together
  • Nudge don’t judge
  • Stay stoked!

Growth Opportunity

This role will work closely with Alex (CEO) and play a key part in building 4ocean’s content engine.

There is strong opportunity for growth as the team expands, including the potential to take on a larger leadership role within the social and content organization over time.

Final Note

This role is for someone who thrives in structure, speed, and execution.

If you love organizing chaos, directing teams, and making sure things actually get done, you’ll do well here.

If you’re looking to just “manage social media,” this is not that role.

4ocean is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
