Over the past years, The Mission to Seafarers (MtS) has seen considerable growth, both in its delivery of support to seafarers and their families, but also in terms of funds raised. We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Events Coordinator to join our Events team, sitting within the Development Department.

In 2023, the team raised an incredible US$1.3m through its Adventure Race in Japan (ARJ), which is being repeated in 2025 and 2027. Work on this is already underway. In 2024, we plan to run a smaller Adventure Race in Geneva, in which you will be heavily involved and for which you will be the main Events Coordinator, working alongside the Special Events Manager. In 2026, this event is planned to be at a size comparable to the event in Japan. Coming in at the start will be an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to help us shape and deliver this event. In addition to this work, you will support the ARJ, Royal Events, and “in-aid-of” events, and you will also support our UK branches with their local fundraising.

The Development team and MtS International Headquarters as a whole provide a collaborative environment in which to work within a friendly and supportive culture.

The Mission to Seafarers provides practical and emotional support to seafarers and their families around the world. Operating in 200 ports and 50 countries, there is no diminishing need for our work. Our corporate supporters come from the shipping industry, which is a very friendly and sociable sector that enjoys getting together and networking.

We look forward to hearing more about you and why you would like to join us on our exciting journey of adventure.

The Events Coordinator role is a hybrid role with one day a week in the London office (Monday), a generous pension, and 25 25-day holiday a year.
