Ocean Associates, Inc. (OAI) is seeking a candidate to provide program management support to the NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) Office of Protected Resources (OPR) in Silver Spring, MD. OAI is a Virginia corporation established in 2003 that provides consulting and technical services to the U.S. government, non-governmental organizations, international organizations, and the private sector. We specialize in scientific program and project management, strategic planning, professional and technical services, and stakeholder engagement, supporting government contracts.

DUTIES:

  • Assisting in the preparation of technical guidance documents and reports related to the conservation and recovery of ESA-listed species as part of fire management and restoration under a Framework Agreement among the Forest Service, National Marine Fisheries Service, and the Fish and Wildlife Service
  • Assisting in the development of funding estimates based on estimated staff workload and planning for future workload and funding
  • Assisting in tracking budget, spending, workload, and tasks under the Framework Agreement
  • Assisting in the planning and facilitating of Framework Agreement coordination meetings

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree and two years of related work experience
  • Knowledge and training in environmental regulations, particularly Federal regulations like the Endangered Species Act
  • Project management, including the practice, methods, and techniques to plan and monitor projects in order to administer a program
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Budget management and reporting
  • Planning and facilitating meetings

Start Date: As soon as Possible upon completion of a background check

Location: Remote

Salary and Benefits: This is a part time position (20hrs/week) with benefits. Salary: $28 to $30/hr.
