Duties and responsibilities

\n
    \n
  • Interpretation of design and costing of research infrastructure, plant and equipment; inspecting and testing of plant and equipment;
    • \n
  • Designing engineering and infrastructure projects;
    • \n
  • Supervision of infrastructure projects;
    • \n
  • Generation of site meeting report as directed;
    • \n
  • Interpretation of design and costing of research infrastructure, plant and equipment; inspecting and testing of plant and equipment;
    • \n
  • Preparation of bill of quintiles and specification for tendering; and
    • \n
  • Compilation and summation of departmental quarterly and annual reports. 
    • \n
\n

Requirements for appointment/Persons Specification

\n
    \n
  • At least three (3) years’ relevant work experience;
    • \n
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in one of the following fields: – Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Building and Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering
    • \n
  • Associate registration with the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya;
    • \n
  • Proficiency in computer application; and
    • \n
  • Meets the requirements of chapter six of the constitution. 
    • \n

  • Communication skills;
    • \n
  • Interpersonal skills; 
    • \n
  • Organizational skills;

  • Good team player; and
    • \n
  • Ability to work under pressure.
