Job title: Operations Manager

Location: Rome office + planned visits in production plants in Italy and Europe

Department: Operations

Reports to: CEO

We're seeking a highly motivated Operations Manager who's passionate about innovation for sustainability and the ocean. You'll be in charge of Ittinsect's entire production and supply chain, with the goal of ensuring maximum efficiency, sustainability, and the highest quality of our products. You will be the project manager of the design and construction (or adaptation) of a pilot facility for producing ingredients using biotechnological processes.What will you do?

You will seek new technical and logistical partners and establish new operational locations.
You will collaborate on the design and implementation of our 20-ton/month biotech pilot plant.
You will be involved in the production of both ingredients through biotech processes and feeds through extrusion processes.
You will be responsible for managing the supply chain from raw material sourcing to finished product shipment.
You will coordinate with our research and development team to ensure production meets quality and quantity requirements.
You will oversee relationships with our production partners for biotech and feed extrusion processes, as well as logistics and distribution partners.
You will supervise the production of select batches to ensure smooth operations.
You will serve as the point of contact for internal and external teams to address any supply chain and production-related issues.
You will consistently analyze raw material prices and manage the procurement of top-quality materials at the best value. We will like you if:
You hold a degree in Engineering, Biology, Biotechnology, Industrial Management, Business Economics, or a related field of study.
You have prior work experience in a supply chain or production management role within the field of animal feed or aquaculture.
You possess knowledge of supply chain management, with a specific focus on planning techniques, inventory management, and workflow optimization.
You are comfortable visiting production sites for one or more consecutive days.
You are responsive to production schedule changes requested by the team and production partners.
You are a natural leader with excellent people, time, and project management skills.
You can effectively communicate with all team members.
You have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of identifying issues, pinpointing causes, and devising innovative solutions.
You are flexible for travel on short notice.
You are familiar with CRM and supply chain management software.
You have practical knowledge of safety, environmental, health, and labor regulations, and can ensure compliance with these regulations in your production and supply chain management role.
You are fluent in English and Italian
