Cellula is looking to add a Materials Specialist to its Production team to support its growing list of projects.

As the Materials Specialist, you will be responsible for handling parts and products, including shipping, receiving, and parts kitting for the technicians. You will also be responsible for all shipments, taking care of all aspects from documentation preparation to communications with vendors/clients. You will work with supply chain and quality on Non-conforming materials and suppliers responses.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee loading and unloading of goods. Timely and accurately receipt of goods on a daily basis.
  • Receive physical shipments, verify incoming goods against purchase orders and packing slips, and scan and save documentation for traceability
  • Monitor inventory levels and advise inventory issues
  • Monitor and control consumables inventory levels and manage top-up requests
  • Monitor shipping/receiving discrepancies and develops solutions to mitigate errors
  • Communicate with purchasing department with any questions or discrepancies
  • Prepare assembly kits based on work orders, kitting the parts and processing documentation according to production procedures.
  • Work with production to ensure efficient and accurate parts kitting on time
  • Determine method of shipment and arrange shipping - prepare bills, invoices, customs forms and other shipping documents.
  • Assemble containers and crates, pack goods to be shipped, and prepare identifying information and shipping instructions.
  • Contact couriers, make arrangements for shipping, issue documentations and instructions for shipping and delivery of materials
  • Track and resolve shipping delays/issues directly with courier
    • Validate Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for incoming/outgoing shipments
    • Scan and save documentation on ERP as part of the receiving procedure
    • Perform relevant ERP system tasks and maintain internal record-keeping
    • Lead and perform regular physical inventory counts
    • Perform general housekeeping tasks within the shipping, receiving and kitting areas.
    • Perform general duties and assist in production as required

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2 years of experience in a similar position and have sound knowledge of receiving, shipping and inventory processes and procedures
  • Experience in inventory management using ERP systems is essential
  • Attention to Detail is crucial for verifying shipment accuracy, identifying damages, and ensuring all documentation is correct
  • Have practical knowledge and experience regarding proper shipping procedures for transportation of dangerous goods
  • Organizational and Time Management Skills is essential for prioritizing tasks, managing multiple shipments simultaneously, and maintaining an orderly work area
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel
