Program Associate, OAE R&D Program

Program: Ocean Alkalinity Enhancement Research and Development Program Position Title: Program Associate, OAE R&D Program Location: Remote but must be based in the United States. Occasional travel is expected. Reports to: Kim Gilbert, Program Manager of the OAE R&D Program Hours per week (average): 40 Overtime Status: Exempt Position Summary The Ocean Alkalinity Enhancement Research and Development Program (OAE R&D) is looking for a Program Associate to help manage day-to-day operations. The Program is a consortium of funders, seeking to accelerate understanding of OAE as a potential method for large-scale

carbon removal by funding teams of scientists and engineers and setting up pre-permitted test- bed sites for research and prototype testing.

The Program Associate will be joining a small founding team of motivated staff working to advance the state of knowledge and technology on ocean-based carbon dioxide removal as a promising solution for climate change. In this role, the Program Associate will have exposure to leading climate funders, scientists, and engineers. Along with day-to-day operations, the Program Associate will have the opportunity to participate in shaping strategy and operations of the R&D Program as it evolves over the next few years. We are looking for a candidate who will remain with the R&D Program for a minimum of 2 years. Responsibilities and Tasks • Provide project management support for a range of program processes (e.g., technical RFPs, grants administration, etc.) • Act as the primary day-to-day point of contact with the R&D Program’s fiscal sponsor • Manage R&D program budgeting and reporting processes • Support external communications with R&D program stakeholders (e.g., partner funders, researchers, engineers, etc.) • Coordinate R&D program meeting logistics, preparation, and follow-up • Develop and manage project workplans, systems, and processes to strengthen team operations Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Ability

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree and at least 2-4 years of experience in program/project management in a fast-paced environment (e.g., a strategy consulting firm, tech, startup) • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal; ability to quickly prepare high quality communication materials in slides and prose; familiarity with spreadsheets/ Excel is a plus • Outstanding interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with external stakeholders • Highly organized and attentive to detail • Ability to operate independently and balance multiple priorities in a fluid and fast-paced start-up environment with high levels of ambiguity • Demonstrated interest in climate science, climate tech, or climate change mitigation broadly; interest and/or prior experience in climate equity/justice is a plus How to Apply To apply, please fill out this form and upload your resume and cover letter as separate attachments. Offers are based on the candidate's years of experience alongside other factors including but not limited to, the cost of living in the candidate’s location.

Compensation also includes a comprehensive benefits package that includes 100% employer- paid health, dental, and vision insurance, 3% automatic contribution and a 3% employer match
