About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Executive Director, People and Culture. As Head of Capability and Talent you will play a pivotal role in leading and shaping Minderoo Foundation’s culture, building capability and enhancing employee engagement through effective talent development strategies ensuring attraction, retention and engagement of leaders and the broader organisation.

The primary focus of the role will involve enhancing our organisational capabilities, while offering support and guidance to our leaders in talent management and development. Oversee strategic recruitment and onboarding processes aimed at attracting and retaining top-tier talent. Additionally, you’ll champion and drive Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts and lead learning and development initiatives throughout the foundation.

The successful candidate will be entrusted with leading, motivating and inspiring an experienced and high performing team of five. Including:

  • Design and implement a range of organisational development programs to develop capability across the organisation, and ensure that talent is identified, developed and managed ensuring retention of an engaged and high performing workforce.
  • Overseeing organisation wide leadership development programs, capability frameworks, performance coaching, internal talent management, and related initiatives.
  • Spearheading targeted initiatives such as Diversity and Inclusion, Talent Acquisition, and Learning and Development and broader organisational engagement.
  • Partner with senior leaders and key stakeholders to identify and address organisational development needs, gaps, and opportunities and develop targeted interventions.
  • Co-lead the creation of best practice, agile initiatives in relation to strategic people requirements in partnership with the P&C Business Partnering team.
  • Drive innovative, diverse and best in class Talent Acquisition strategies for internal mobility and external talent identification.
  • Contributing to the ongoing evolution and maturity of the P&C function.

About You

The successful candidate will demonstrate a collaborative and people-centric approach to work, coupled with evident commercial acumen, delivering people solutions tailored to business needs.

Extensive expertise in senior management roles, showcasing leadership in organisational culture and capability, organisational development principles, theories, and practices. Talent acquisition, and learning.

  • Demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of strategic people initiatives to drive organisational performance across the employee lifecyle.
  • Demonstrable and successful experience in attracting diverse talent through innovative methods, utilising analytics for talent insights, and crafting talent programs, career paths, and compelling employer branding.
  • Proficiency in utilising metrics to gauge the effectiveness and impact of learning, talent, and leadership initiatives, enabling data-driven decision-making for optimised outcomes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of organisational diagnosis and intervention, best practice talent management principles and strategies for building a high-performing cultures.
  • Strategic mindset, with the capacity to translate business objectives into operational outcomes in a commercially focused way.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, leading with Minderoo values and enabling effective negotiation, influence, and communication with stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify emerging learning trends and technologies to enhance learning experiences and drive continuous improvement across the organisation.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Organisational Development, Psychology or a related field.
